A symbol of peace since ancient times, the olive branch lends its spirit and cultural significance to this very special Peace Flute.   The bark has been removed at the lower end of the flute and at the finger holes to expose the beautiful, finely finished wood grain.  Measuring 131/4" in length, it is sweetly and soulfully tuned to a high Fm ( A=440 ) pentatonic scale, modes 1 & 4, playing three upper register notes.  The olive branch's natural beauty has been enhanced with touches of green turquoise inlay in a few small knots.  Deer leather lacing with green turquoise nuggets and gold plated beads secures the bird to its nest.  To help prevent wetout, the bird has been fitted with a cedar shoe, and a drain hole, covered by the lacing, has been designed into the air chamber.  The branch for this flute was gathered sustainably with respect, gratitude and prayer, from an abandoned olive grove that grows within the San Marcos Creek watershed of California.
